Sharing Internet over WiFi

I have BSNL modem + WiFi router.

I connect my lappie, Nook Color, iPhone everything to it.

Now say when I am downloading in my lappie, the speed is maximum & I can't browse anything my tablet or phone. So everytime I have limit speed in uTorrent.

Is this same case with you ? Or any priorities can be set ? Like when iPhone or Nook Color are connected they get speed then rest is allocated for lappie ?

How are you guys actually managing ?

I had installed utorrent remote on android and limits the speed of utorrent in lappy directly via mobile when browsing from mobile

However automatic speed controller will be really nice

Basically a load balancer.

You can keep a cap, on the connected nodes on your network. To apply, this you have to configure your wifi-router.

Or else run your torrents in some VM, on you lappie, and put a software-cap on your lappy, for that VM-image.

I dunno, in my case, with the stock settings browsing can be done on other machines, but speeds are slow.

See if you can assign QoS/priorities in your router settings. In my case it can be done.
