I bought a Sharp 18PMT indoor PHT Outdoor ..1.5 ton AC yesterday, in my house the fitting for AC was already in place...I asked the dealer if that would make any difference before buying the AC; he said it doesn't make any difference, but when the guys came to install the AC they first said that it would require welding and they will Install the AC ...and later they said the fitting has been done for Hitachi and OGeneral and Dankin ACs it would not fit for Sharp. Please suggest what should be done? Shall I return the AC back and go for Hitachi, or there is a way around? Thanks !

What is the meaning of fitting?
And why did they require welding? As far as I know, only the copper pipe needs a form of welding if the provided pipe is not sufficient in length to reach ODU.

You should find the details on why fitting is not compatible. Then try to get in touch with Sharp City central office. Also you should alert the store in case you need to return the AC

Probably the pip dock gauges are not matching. New AC <----> Old pipes. At least ask them to show you what is non-compatible. Usually these guys are morons and incompetent. Basically anyone who enters your house for a service, treat him as someone who is out to fleece you. Basic street rule: in India.
