@ l33t: Kewl bro... Have you done something like this before?? I'll begin the hunt soon enough...

Well , My Grandad runs a place which can do these sorts of things/ precision machining - yeh i've done some work on CNC lathes , I'm thinking of something like this once I'm done with boards (22nd march !!) , time to mod my CM 310.

Begin the hunt , then you might just get it done in a day or two , single piece is going to leave a big crater in the already big pocket of yours :P

Are you kidding me...?? :O

Damn it... U are 'The Savior' and still you ask me to look in places for the one who can lead me to salvation...?? :@

One Question: Will you do this thing for me or not?? :gun2:

If u don't do it, I'll commit suicide, leave a suicide note with your name on it and u'll go to jail for abetting suicide...!!!

EDIT: You can do it after ur boards... No issue... Also, if I find someone locally till then, you are saved!!

The hacksaw and file won't give me the desired finish and perfection... I think...
Who said?

I myself did a lot of jobs max4-5mm thick plates. Definitely you will get required finish, Provided you have the proper tools, A round, Triangular and flat file with a vice would easily get the job done...

I certainly don't believe if it can't be done manually (Aircrafts were flying before CNC was there).

and as a heridetary smiths I can certainly say it can be made by general fitting.

Finish, Just use proper oilstone, lapping compounds to get, Even mirror finish can be brought by hand...

Wow... That's so true...

I just thought that it might be kinda difficult to get the symmetry of the logo correctly. Obviously, I have zero experience in this... :ashamed:

But I'll check out is any experienced artist can be found here in Mumbai... Thanx...

Simple, Take a printout of the cad file.. (1:1 print out is easily taken from CAD files)
(Frankly, Mine is more advanced profession, Just check my profile)

Cut and paste over the sheet metal, Leave 1-2mm allowance and cut with hacksaw. Finish to the sketch pasted using a file/Files...

Use wet/dry emery on a flat face from 300-1000 No. and get back.
Lets see how that's not going to be possible.

Some of it went over the head... :ashamed:

But I think I'll try this on hardboard first. If that comes out well, I can go ahead with metal sheets. What do you think about that??

And Thanx... :)

Nehaa : My grandad lives in chennai , I live in b'lore , lot of distance you see , but yeah, if i'll be going to chennai in like 2 months odd time , I can get it done for you then.

I certainly don't believe if it can't be done manually (Aircrafts were flying before CNC was there).

True that. But then the work done then was done by some real skilled hands , Neha has skill with the mouth damnit :P (Hands too , in a different pressing sort)

He said , precise , so I suggested the most precise / affordable (next to lasers/jets) way to get it done, thats it.

Too many typos on Post #22 :|

Obviously, Nobody is born with experience, its just how it gets started...

Who knows, this may bring the smith inside you..

Yeah... Will try that... It may not bring out the smith in me but it has potential to drive away the thought of getting this done from my head...
