Shifting from ADSL to FTTH. Which router?

Folks,

I've been using an MTNL Triband 1Mbps connection for the last few years with a D-Link 2750U Router

Now, I've moved to Noida, where the only ISPs are Nextra and Spectranet. Both provide FTTH @ 20mbps. And both say my ADSL modem is not compatible with their services since it has an RJ-11 instead of an RJ-45 WAN port.

So now I have to junk my ADSL router and buy a new one. I want to spend as little money as possible. Which modem should I go for? I have a 3BHK flat with an area of around 1300 square feet.

D-Link N 300 has been recommended by the Spectranet installer:
http://www.amazon.in/gp/product/B0085IAWQG/ref=olp_product_details?ie=UTF8&me=
This has no DD-WRT support

And this cheaper TP Link I found online:
http://www.flipkart.com/tp-link-tl-wr740n-150mbps-wireless-n-router/p/itmdrmmgfwnyhzvy
This seems to support DD-WRT but has no USB port

Which one is better? Or is there a better option?

Any help will be greatly appreciated.[DOUBLEPOST=1418203644][/DOUBLEPOST]Guys, any advice?

Do I need to go for a 300 mbps router or a 150 mbps one? The tp link 740n seems to have very good reviews.

Is it enough for a 20mbps connection over 1300 Sq ft?

Installer says go for 300 mbps. But I don't want to spend extra if I can help it

Get Tp-Link TDW8968 Router, It has ADSL2, 3G USB, DSL (RJ45) , every type of connection u think of in India. Also Dual 5dbi antenna and 300mbps Wi-Fi is also great plus point. Very easy to configure too.

If u don't want all-in-one then, get Asus RT N-12 D1 router, and load Tomato (Shibby) farmware.

All of them currently available at filpkart within 2000 Rs.

Thanks. Was on a super tight budget. So got the TP-LINK TL-WR740N 150Mbps Wireless N Router [http://www.flipkart.com/tp-link-tl-...ink&ref=0d6257f2-27db-4459-a10c-5a66ef83f18f] during the Flipkart App sale after looking at GeekyRanjit's review:

I'll do a review after using it for a bit.

You can usually convert one of your LAN ports to a WAN port on the dlink.

I did read about it. Seemed too hard for a noob like me. And the installer said Spectranet will not permit (the router has to be registered with them).
