Shipping medicine to USA

Hello all,

I need to send some medicine to a relative in USA via courier OR post. But, I need to some thongs clarified first.

1. Will it be illegal in India?
2. Will it reach safely OR be seized on reaching USA?

If have any of you done it previously pl guide me.

Yes, you can do so since my friend's father who had gone there needed some meds. I think he used DHL/FedEx though.

Depends on type of medicine. Export of some medicines are restricted. Any psychotropic medicine like Alzolam are not allowed. Also, legally you need to obtain "no objection" from Port office of Central Drugs Standard Control Organisation (Central Drugs Standard Control Organization Directorate General of Health Services) in your area.
