Hi Guys,

Anyone know if the Logitech Z-5500 Digital or Creative Megaworks 5.1 500 is available in BKK??? And for how much?? And I also am interested in buying the Thermalright XP 120 cooling for AMD 64. Any idea abt that???

And Gskill RAM. Are they available in BKK??? I am particularly interested ib the RAM based on Samsung TCCD chips. Also, the OCZ DDR booster. Are these things available in Bangkok????

My main priority is the speaker set.

Please reply guys!!!!

Thanks.

Guys, Thanks a lot for all the help. Especially Hooligan!!!

And I checked out both the links you gave and while the articles PRAISE pantip plaza SKY HIGH, I went to the website where the pricelist was given and there, they hardly have any selection in speakers. Why is that??? I hope that is not the real case in Pantip Plaza.

And manx_bkk, thanks a lot for your message. And now, I was thinking like this ----

1st option --- M-Audio Revolution 7.1 + Z-5500Digital

2nd option ---- Audigy 2 ZS + Creative Megaworks 5.1 550.

I already have a digital cozaxial cable. So, if I get the M-Audio(which has a digital coax output on the card itself), then I can connect it to the decoder of the Z-5500Digital.

If I odn't get the Logitechs, then I will be going with the second option as Creative+creative will give me a good performance. I contacted both Creative and Logitech and they seem to be in different worlds. ;)

Logitech say that I cannot get Digital decoding through analog. And the Single digital out on the Audigy 2 ZS is not enough they say. Creative say that if I buy Audigy 2 ZS, and a creative set, then thro' the analog, I can get the digital decoding.

So, any comments guys???

use the optical output if the soundcard has it. the audigy2 zs doesnt have the optical out. u gotta buy it seperately.

i already have monster cables lying for digital coax & optical & have no use for it. if any1 is interested in buying them let me know

I also have the Monster Coax cables. But I plan on using them. Just to confirm --- The Audigy 2 ZS does not have coax output does it??? I am talking abt the plain version. Not plat or plat pro version.

And what are you using with your Z-680s??? Audigy 2 ZS ??? Why don't you upgrade to a Plat pro? Then you can use the optical or coax output cables.

The subwoofer/centre of the ZS doubles as the digital coax out. You need a converter from the normal stereo to coax. It can be found at almost all high end audio shops. But anyway the DAC on the ZS is definitely better than the DAC on the logitech. I'd connect them by analog anyway. Unless you have a rather high end receiver like an onkyo/denon/marantz, there's no point using the digital anyway.

For gaming, stay away from the m-audio. For music/movies its way better than the creative.

using the z680s in the hall with the 43" proj tv & dvdplayer with digital coax, cant use the optical from dvdplayer cause the woofer is far away from the player & the wire aint that big.

audigy2 zs does have digital out so u can use the coax from the zs to the 680's

Yeah, I read a few reviews abt that on the net. I also contacted Cretaive and they told me that I can use the digital out on the back panel of the ZS to the coax input on the Logitechs.

A 1/8" mini plug to RCA converter cable is needed.
Either a mono or stereo mini plug can be used since the signal is always transmitted from the tip of the plug.

This is what I need. Any idea if it is available in India?? And if so, where? I will also go and do my share of work, but my internals are from tomorrow. So, gotta study for now :@
And thanks for all your help. And manx, coud you please let me know abt the availibility of the ZS and the Logitechs?? and the other stuff I asked for??? Take your time. I am in no hurry. Am going only on 21st.

And thanks guys!!!!
