Hi All ,

I am planing to Buy a desktop mainly for running Oracle related software and running Virtulazation. I am looking for 16GB RAM on this machine.

The core i7 has only hyper threading support and other then that I found all other features are the same.

I do not have a problem in spending another 5k for the i7 , but the question is that really worth ?. Please also suggest me the best
mother board for the Virtulazation needs. I am thinking of buying DH67BL.

Experts , please share your thoughts on this.

Regards

if you fiexed Intel DH67BL-B3 Motherboard than DON'T WASTE money on any 2500K or 2600K as NON K series will served best with DH67BL-B3 Motherboard. for other things/suggestions post as Alpha said.

for virtualization i suggest you go with the i7 2600 along with any H67 motherboard to keep the costs down. The vanilla i7 2600 will be cheaper by ~2000 bucks compared to the K model

^^ Core i5 2400 ~ 9500/- OR Core i7 2600 ~ 13500/- [non-k version as you're not going to over-clock]

Intel DH-67BL ~ 5500/-

Corsair XMS3 1600 MHz 4GB x 1 1600 MHz ~ 2000/-

NZXT Gamma ~ 2100 + 2 x 120 mm Cooler Master R4's ~ 600/- [better than the Cooler Master eLite 430 and cheaper available only from Golccha Computers @S.P. Rd., Bangalore] http://xsreviews.co.uk/reviews/cases/nzxt-gamma/ / http://www.overclockersclub.com/reviews/nzxt_gamma/

Corsair VX 450W ~ 3500/-

Seagate Barracuda 7200.12 1TB ~ 2700/-

Logitech Multimedia keyboard + mouse combo ~ 700/-

I think this should be what you should aim for your RIG, if you want to wait, wait till AMD BullDozer processors are out -- more cores, more virtulization fun [my point-of-view strictly]. In the end choice is upto you. Hope this helps.

Do I need Add 5% VAT for this ?. Core i7 2600 ~ 13500 is after the VAT or before the VAT , I have been quoted as 14,000+5%VAT for the i7 2600 processor.

^^ The prices I've put are an approximation, add tax and find out the actual rates from the market itself bruv. I'm sorry I did not bring this up.

Thank you Alpha17.

I have one more question ?.
