After endless followup with WD customer care since friday ( which includes occasions like putting receiver on ears for more 20 mins, and hoping in vain that I get the chance to speak to one of the executives).
I finally had my product picked up and new HDD delivered. But guess what, it is clearly mentioned on WD HDD that it is 'Recertified in Malaysia'!!!!!!!!!!!! I also checked the warranty status and it is valid till 2012. ( my earlier one was valid till 2013!!!!)
I have clearly told them over the phone, in email that I want the brand new product and not refurbished. I was assured that only original product is send to customers.
I am really frustrated now.....I have paid the price for new HDD, and not refurbished/ recertified one....
Please advise what can I do now, other then just requesting the customer care of have it replaced again. If someone else has also taken this RMA of WD, can he please let me know if the HDD received by him is new or recertified?
