Should my PC (specs inside) be able to play Star Wars - The Force Unleashed?

Hey guys,

I got Star Wars - Force Unleashed for my PC a few days ago, and installed & played it yesterday. Right from the start, I could see a slightly slow framerate, and in some action-heavy segments, there was highly prominent lag and the proceedings almost slowed down to a crawl.

So, I thought that maybe my system would be incompetent to handle such an intensive game. Here are the main specs of my system....

CPU - AMD X2 4800+

Motherboard - ASUS M2N MX-SE

RAM - 2GB DDR2

Graphics Card - Palit Nvidia 9600GT 512MB DDR3

Operating System - Windows 7 32-bit

Resolution - 1366x768

So, is the game too advanced for my configuration? What is the weakest part in my config? Is there any way (patch, lower resolution) I could make the game play at a reasonable rate?

It shouldnt, I yet have not across a game which taxed the 9600GT at medium settings at Full HD resolution!!
 
Tone down the settings to medium or low/medium. Your CPU and GPU are not as good as when you had bought them :).
 
It shouldn't be able to play or it shouldn't give problems? Sorry, got confused there!

And this isn't the full HD resolution, is it? Just 720p! Also, how do I tone down the graphical settings in this game? I don't see any such option in the menu!
 
There should be a config file in the game folder somewhere. I have not tried the game, but its a 2 year old game, dont think it should tax the 9600Gt unless its a crappy port like the GTA..
 
^^ Never had problems with PC version of GTA4, but SWFU PC Version is definitely a uber crappy port. Not optimized at all, but I think it is more CPU intensive than GPU intensive. The game does not have great graphics, its all about Physics.
 
It is Samsung Series 3. t is only Half-HD. But given my Graphics Card and CPU, it is alright if I'm not able to play Full HD na?

thanks. i found one now. But there is a PS3 and Xbox copy. I sadly have none. And, the PC one is a pirated copy.

Thanks again, but looks like even that option is not available to me. I dont have a paypal account. Also, my internet connection has limited usage.

I think I will wait for it till i get a PS3 then. If your system is unable to play the game properly, I think even I might not able to play it.
 
^^ Credit cards work just fine. When I played that game my rig had AMD FX 64 bit 4400+, 2 gigs DDR2 ram and a 512 MB 8800GT. Played fine, with only the cutscene sounds getting distorted sometimes. I played on a 17" in high settings.
 
Worked fine on my comp too,not even a little laggy,but i dint like the game play of the game,im waiting for the the one releasing now,my freids pc alos was able to play it he has a 4850 and Athlon 6000+.
 
I have Palit 9600GSO 512MB ad i can play Mafia 2 at Medium at 1440x900 with my underclocked card getting 45FPS
