A few humble suggestions from my side considering the new rule change.
For sellers
Whenever possible, take the time to list items in separate threads with appropriate prefixes/labels & tags. Since unnecessary bumps are no longer allowed, it's easier for prospective buyers to filter using the label or search using tags in a specific subforum.
Whether you want to drop the price, withdraw the item or put a hold on the sale, keep the thread updated so that buyers don't get confused. Once the sale is concluded or withdrawn, use the report button on the first post and ask the mods to lock the thread. This is (I'm assuming) easier for the mods compared to tagging them directly on a post.
All this may seem like a hassle but as the active member count grows (Most of whom are attracted to the marketplace), the old rules or practices would not have remained viable anyways.
For buyers
If you are searching specifically for something, then try filtering with the appropriate FS:<Prefix> or use the search feature mentioning the tags you are interested in and the subforum name.
If you simply want to keep track of new sale threads for good deals,
- Watch the Classifieds, Dealers Paradise and WTB forums for new threads. You will get notifications on TE when a new thread is posted.
- If you enable browser notifications, you can have these notifications forwarded to your Phone or PC if you so wish.
- You can also choose to receive notification for each new post but that would probably be overkill especially before the rule change. I suggest only watching the threads you are interested in for new posts else you'll be swamped by the notifications.
For Mods
If possible, can we enable multiple prefixes/labels for threads like in Reddit? So, if someone is selling a desktop for example and are open to parting out, they can use multiple prefixes like Desktop, RAM, Processor etc. This is still possible via the existing tags feature, but I find it less intuitive than color coded prefixes appearing near the thread name.
