with AMD pricing cpus this high even 7600x looks like will cost in india around 28k

and all those bugs with new platform + DDR5 prices are also too high

basically if some one wants to buy 7600x + am5 mobo + ddr5 it will roughly cost around 28k +20k + 15k(2*16gb ddr5) = 63k this is just the entry level processor for am5 platform.

It's interesting to note that AMD compared their 7600X with the 12900K and found an 11% performance increase. They chose their 'entry level' Zen 4 processor to level up against Intel's flagship. I can't wait to see what independent reviews find, AMD has been traditionally conservative with their comparisons.

New CPU's rarely cost less than older ones, prices will eventually stabilize, same with DDR5. As for reliability and 'bugs', it's too early to speculate without any reviews or reports. I'm hopeful that they learned as much as they could from Intel's implementation of DDR5 and would not face the same challenges.

This was quite shocking, TBH during their release notes. Although being a 1st part comparison we should take it with a grain of salt but we can expect +- 10 to 15% in the said performance.
And as you said the bugs and reliability are better referred to after some reviews and early adoptions. Without real-life testing scenarios not much can be said abt them.

AM5 processors are scheduled to co-exist with AM4 5000 and some 3000 stock for a while at least. Many tech sites claim that it could take until the end of 2023 for a complete switchover to the new platform.

Yes, even the entry level AM5s are gonna be quite high in India. The current inventory has to be cleared in order for the sale numbers to pick up with regards to AM5. So, we could expect a price drops for AM4 processors and motherboards rather than AM5 at least in the near few months.

These claims were for gaming.
I'm sure for productivity the 7600x will have it's ass served on a plate by the 12900k.
The pcmark score of the 13700 were not at all impressive.
It's a wait and watch game now.

The best build right now is AMD's 5xxx based build. I am going to stick to my 5800X atleast till end of next year, wait for DDR5 platform to stabilize and only then will think of AM5 based build.

If you have to buy one this year, wait for Intel to launch 13th gen chips and hope that AMD cuts pricing of their chips (if Intel undercuts AMD).
