If India truly wants to shape the future the first step is to permanently and fully end this reservation crap which was started by our then social workers and freedom fighters only for a ltd period until the poor and the lower caste gets sufficient education to grab some work or jobs. But see how far this has came and how foolishly rather shamelessly these caste people still want more reservation nos. where they got ample of farms, houses, money and swanky cars yet they want it all only to do chapri and gunda-giri. Best example in my vicinity are Pune people from Mulshi and Hinjewadis. These people are so rich that their 2-3 generations can easily sit, shit and enjoy! Yet these people are hungry for more money.
Latest eg: https://timesofindia.indiatimes.com...hagawane-death-case/articleshow/121373703.cms dig more on this and you will get to know.

In fact govt. should dishonor and entirely discontinue the reservation system and focus to start a BPL (below poverty line category) category policy where only after a thorough analysis a specific category of people can be classified into BPL. Once they flourish few yrs from now, their BPL benefits should cease and they shall then fall in the normal lower/middle income group category.

I wonder why even govt. wants to entertain reservation these days.

My blood is boiling since school days when some 35% percent classless reservation category idiot was put promoted in A division while we who earned 85% were allocated B and C divisions. But then came the judgement day when we all passed 10th in one go and these A category reservation fools took a good 2-3 reattempts to clear the exam!

no govt will ever touch reservation, they wont survive the elections, just look at Farm Laws and Article 370 abrogation, both of were good initiatives but you have seen just what happened, as for new category, it should definitely be BPL and imo, if reservation is availed once, then it shouldnt be allowed for the next 2 generations, period. Doesnt matter if the family is BPL or not,

everything in this country is done with idea to remain in power.

This country because of its leaders lacks long term vision for their country.

The problem is, the One with Vision will never become the leader or even wish to be a leader in the first place.
The problem lies in the foundation not matter what kind of renovation we do it will merely be a glass facade.
Lets not forget the former First Citizen of India was replaced by someone called pratiba patil is enough to prove that we will be in the dump soon enough.
And its not just isolated to India. This is pretty much the situation everywhere.

What's happening over in Karnataka? has Congress just gone mad? their recent decisions seem to be really baffling, from banning bike taxis, to the stampede incident with both RCB and Karnataka govt blaming each other and now Karnataka is proposing raising daily hours/overtime for workers now (basically 12 hour workdays)

This is a very great comment on reddit ( )
2-hour work day in Karnataka’s IT Sector; Modern-Day Slavery in the Making: KITU Urges Employees to Unite and Resist

The Karnataka State IT/ITeS Employees Union (KITU) calls upon the entire working class to come in resistance against the Karnataka Government move to increase the working hours in IT/ITES/BPO sector to 12 hours a day. The proposal to amend the Karnataka Shops and Commercial Establishment Act to facilitate 12-hour working day is presented in a meeting called by the labour department on 18th June, with various stakeholders in the industry.

Labour Secretary and other officials from Department of Labour attended the meeting. Representing the employees in IT/ITeS sector, Karnataka State IT/ITeS Employees Union General Secretary Comrade Suhas Adiga, President VJK and Secretary Lenil Babu attended the meeting. KITU representatives strongly raised our opposition to the proposed amendment, which poses an attack on the basic right of any worker to have a personal life.

The proposed amendment to the Karnataka Shops and Commercial Establishments Act attempts to normalize a 12-hour work day. The existing act only allows a maximum of 10 hours work per day including overtime.

This amendment will allow the companies to go for a two shift system instead of the currently existing three shift system and one third of the workforce will be thrown out from their employment.

During the meeting KITU pointed out the studies on the health impact of extended working hours among the IT employees. Report on Mental health in workplace, “State emotional wellbeing report 2024” has revealed that 90% of corporate employees in India under the age of 25 are struggling with anxiety.

Deaths and suicides due to excessive work pressure are becoming common in the IT sector. The recent suicide of a software engineer at OLA’s Artificial Intelligence unit in Bangalore, due to extreme work pressure, underlines this situation. Increasing working hours will further aggravate this situation. The Karnataka Government, in their hunger to please their corporate bosses, completely neglects the most fundamental right of any individual — the right to live.

This amendment shows that the Government of Karnataka is unwilling to recognize workers as human beings who require personal and social lives to survive. Instead, it views them merely as machines to increase the profits of the corporates it serves.

This amendment comes at a time when the world is beginning to acknowledge that increased working hours negatively impact productivity, and more countries are introducing legislation to recognize the right to disconnect as a basic right of every employee.

In 2024 as well, the Karnataka Government attempted to increase working hours by introducing an amendment to allow a 14-hour workday in the IT sector, but the move was successfully resisted by KITU with strong employee support. The renewed push to extend working hours reflects the government’s continued efforts to serve corporate interests over workers' rights.

The Karnataka State IT/ITeS Employees Union (KITU) urges the government to reconsider this move and warns that any attempt to proceed with the amendment will be seen as a direct challenge to the 20 lakh employees working in the IT/ITeS sector in Karnataka. KITU calls upon all IT/ITeS employees to unite and stand together to resist this inhuman attempt to impose modern-day slavery upon us.

Amrit Kaal loading. This country will become unlivable within the next 10 years for any rational, thinking and peace-loving person. Sadly, can't escape this so will most likely perish in this.
