Hi All,
I know it is mostly not needed for Laptop but should we get UPS for laptop?
here at my place power cut is very frequent and continous. It will come for 2 mins and then go and then come. Like repeatedly in entire day almost 6-7 times. Somes time even power supplied seems inadequate because we can see bulbs going dim( though that is not frequent but happens sometimes.

Worries if it could cause trouble for the laptop.

nah, modern laptops have enough battery safety mechanisms built in to be affected by powercuts .
whats harmful to the laptop hardware are power surges, which is the spike of input voltage when power comes back on, make sure you are using a spike protector or a extension with a built-in spike protector for laptop charger.

Thanks.
Yes...power fluctuating is too much here too.
Any suggestion for good quality spike protector.

Spike with Ground Open/ALL OK - LED LIGHT may be good... Panasonic/Anchor (upto Rs.400/-) have same and for Good Budget MX Brand (1.5k or more) is there.

If you guys suffer from power fluctuation then get a home protector like this > https://www.amazon.in/dp/B07VHGC21M

It'll protect you against low voltage, high voltage, and intermittent fluctuations with delayed recovery. The one I have shared is Chinese, fits right into your MCB, is configurable, and has advanced settings. You can also find Indian-made protectors. Those are bulky though and non-configurable.

If you spend more money you can have protectors with leakage protection means it'll stop you from getting electrocuted. Like > https://www.amazon.in/gp/product/B0BWRGTLJ7

If you spend even more money you can have surge protection too. Surge protection is to save your appliances against lightning striking your power lines. How many of you have suffered lighting ⚡?

Your first priority is to get protection from High-low-intermittent-fluctuating voltage. Then you should think about getting leakage protection. The last priority should be surge protection.

Surge/spike Protector does absolutely nothing for power fluctuations. And instead of getting one for your computer alone, you should have one for your whole house. Like > https://www.amazon.in/amiciSmart-Protector-20KA-50KA-Lightning-Protection/dp/B0B68522RY (this is a stand-alone surge protector)

BTW, such protectors are also made by reputed brands like Schnider or Legrand but I couldn't find their links.

if your worry is about the irregularity of power supply, you can chill. Though one thing you can do is tweak your power settings so that it recharges only if battery falls below a set threshold. Too many top ups can adversely impact battery health

If you need battery backup, if you use a 65W or less charger and has usb c charging, try this https://www.flipkart.com/ambrane-40...ivery-3-0-quick-charge-3-0/p/itme8d20e8511c9e
