Hi.

So I bought a Shure 215 headphone. By far the best earphones I ever owned. I actually can notice the sound signature difference from others.

However, I see there is some sort of removable cable to the earplug. Whats the use?

Thanks.

Generally, removable cables mean you don't have to throw away your expensive headphones/earphones when just the cable is damaged.

So I get different cables for them? They are attached to the plugs using some type of connector. Are they proprietary? Where can i source them?

Yes ,they have different cables for one with the mic.
Fiio have the RC-SE1 which you will have to source directly from them.
Congo on the purchase.

what earphones were u using before 215??

Hmm.

Few together. AT M50, Klipsch S4i, Meelec sports model.

coming from s4 i think u would like 215 but generally speaking its not a very good iem at 100$ price point.
still super comfortable and great isolation,,,if only the bass was a bit less............

I love the bass in this :). Which one do you think is a good IEM at 100$ point? Maybe for my next one. :D
