I bought a Siemens Frig and Washing Machine from Asiatic Electric Trading Co. located in Lohar Chawl at Crawford Market - Phone number is 2206 9948 / 9333.

They are very good to deal with, and they are authorized sellers of Siemens products. Talk to the owner - Mr Utamchandani - nice guy.

Before I bought my Siemens Washing Machine I checked at Mouthshut too... and I wish the people there really keep their "MOUTHS SHUT" - because the reports there were not very good about the Siemens Slim Line washing machine, but I was not influenced by the reviews and bought this washing machine anyway. Since the last 2 years we have not had any problems with it. Actually the Siemens Slim Line washing machine is the only one that fits in the space we have.

Ya me too heard Siemens products are the best these days which u can vouch like old frig that ran for 20-30 years......i myself asked an engineer in a reputed company who said now our company policy is to make products which starts giving problem as soon as warranty ends....like for frig max 6-7 years

They are expensive but worth buying what i read....ya i too dont trust mouthshut much...but on user ratings i read that review only .Most other reviews are wrote by peeps who work in company s which are in competition with the product they reviewing

Slightly OT..

How good is the service provided by Siemens? Apparently there's hardly 1 service center per major metro :S

Never needed any service for the Frig or Washing Machine in over 2 years :ohyeah:

And now both are out of warranty and wifey refused to pay for AMC (dont remember the AMC amounts asked but they were very high) so I will never have an answer to your question :P

I also have Siemens Distribution board with ELCB and MCBs installed, good stuff.

Aah eazy sir me too going OT in my own thread...do u have any idea abt philips products???Though chances are less for me going for it as they are selling a low settings stuffs here

In my books,

Philips = P.O.S.

I have never had any product from Philips which did not give trouble. And their A.S.S. also was the worst possible. :@

Old thread - but I now have an answer to this question.

2 days back there was a major power outage in my area and when the power was restored we found that the Siemens Fridges display/switch panel had gone for a toss. We phoned Siemens service centre at 4 PM and asked for a engineer to come over and check it. Believe it or not the engineer was here by 5PM the same day !!! He checked the fridge and said that the display panel of the fridge had become TOAST with the beating it took during the power outage, the rooms lights had flickered a lot before they went off and this must have caused the circuitry inside the panel to blow some parts. This engineer had a new panel for my fridge inside his kit bag and he replaced it in 5 minutes, it had a screw-driver-less snap lock fit. The sad part was the cost of replacing the panel.... 4,440/- ... this is the downside of repairing these imported products :O

@magnet - if you see this.... I asked the Siemens Engineer and he said they have a showroom for their products sold locally and gave me the phone number - 6598 3197
