This is for all those ppl faced with the problem that occurs when you try to install the new sify bb clients, and have your beloved antiviruses running but the sify client won't install because you don't have one of their supported antiviruses installed.
Heres a workaround.
I have nod32 installed on my system, now when I tried to install the new sify client it wouldn't, telling me that I don't have an antivirus installed on my pc and wanted me to download trend. Like I was going to that.
Heres what you have to do.
1. Download McAfee antivirus demo, and install it.
2. Now immediately uninstall the antivirus, but leave mcafee security centre as it is.
3. Install your sify client, it's gonna install fine now.
4. Open up regedit.exe, go to hklm\software\microsoft\windows\currentversion\run and delete all the mcafee related entries that you see, this will stop mcafee security centre from running, but will still have it installed,
5. Go to prog files and rename the mcafee folder to something else, you can delete it , but it would be advisable to keep it, for later clean uninstalls, but then sify won't work again if you do a clean uninstall
6.Open up hijackthis, if you're a lil paranoid, and delete the mcafee entries, dosent make a diff though, as your system at this state is almost mcafee less.
Voila you're done.
Enjoy your old antivirus.
