Other Silicone cover in mobiles with removable battery, worth it?

Do you think using a silicone cover is worth it when the phone's back cover and battery detach upon dropping?
Will a silicone cover be detrimental in such cases by not allowing the back panel and removable battery to absorb the impact?
Would you use a cover?

Definitely, but I'd use something more protective than a silicone cover.

Something out of pvc with a prominent TPU lip to protect against face down drops and sufficiently thick to protect against corner drops. I like uag's 'ice' designs having had them on earlier phones and look for something similar.
