As the topic says, no wreckers, no crashes, just clean nose to tail racing for laps and laps (atleast until my botched pit-stop at the end :().
Everyone interested in racing games will like this video.

Live for Speed is truly amazing. I love it even more when you have a REALLY close race like the one you had.

...Speeding in pitlane? WTH?!@#
 
i think its either the BMW M3 game or GTR. :P

EDIT : which game is live for speed ? nevah played it..

is it easy to play with a keyboard unlike GTR :P if yes ..i will try to get the game :) looks interesting.

great racing :D not sure how you made that turn at 2:48 but that was the best :lol:

i tried lfs last time but it was a bit hard playing on the kb

The lag doesn't affect the gameplay at all. It requires very little bandwidth and the cars don't skip in multiplayer. The replay like in the video isn't the smoothest if you're looking at it from in-car view which is why you see the steering frame. The netcode is a lot better than GTR2/BMW M3 Racing in my opinion.

Everyone who likes racing sims must try this. An online demo is available for free - Live for Speed - Online racing simulator. It's a little difficult with keyboard but a lot simpler with a mouse + keyboard and even more with a analog gamepad. With a steering wheel, it's awesome!~

We were approaching a corner and I had the inside line. He respected that and avoided moving in to touch the apex which would have bumped me off the track.
90% of the drivers on licensed servers are well mannered in that regard so you don't have to worry about overzealous drivers shutting the door on you at the last moment :).

You don't notice the lag at all. In this video I was racing with 200ms.
Whatever jerks and snappy steering wheel motion you see is because the smoothing carried out by the netcode isn't captured in replays.
Infact, I have raced with as high as 300ms and haven't faced any problems.

Speedo units are Kmph.
 
Nice video. Reminds me of my racing days about 7 years ago on vroc.net with the old "Grand Prix Legends" game - which I think is the best even today :)

GPL was quite an achievement for its time.

Have you seen Dave Kaemmer's new sim iRacing? It's expensive but the thing feels almost like an actual trackday.

from the way you entered the corner i was kind of thinking that the car would go wide as you exited the corner but it held the line :lol:

and yeah great clean racing :D
