Hello,

I am looking for recommendation for an inverter for a 650 Watt load (measured using Kill-a-Watt). I have tried Microtek offerings 900VA (SEBZ) and 1115VA (SWE2+) inverter and both of them failed to drive this load. It seems that Microtek inverters are not really what they say on the box.

I already have an APC UPS (SUA1000UXI) which is bearing most of this load. I need the inverter to feed the power to this UPS. The inverter batteries are cheaper to maintain than the UPS batteries.

Anybody knows of a reliable single battery inverter for computer usage?

Thanks

How much load have you tested with this inverter?
I personally have a Luminous Sine wave 875VA, it easily takes load of 40" Samsung LED TV, 22" Sony LCD TV and my Wolf-dale based desktop rig with Corsair VX450 PSU, all three of them run simultaneously without any issues, in addition to fans and lights.

So, Zelio should ideally take more load.

I have got a luminous 1650 sine wave inverter and it takes the loads of 850W PSU, 43inch TV, all lights and fans, monitor.

So for a 1.1KV inverter, all you need to check is if you have some headroom after your requirement which you clearly have. Even if the inverter performs 80% of its efficiency, you still can run the PC comfortably. :)

I couldnt find this particular model on their website. Is this a single battery or a dual battery model?

Unfortunately, since both of my new Microtek inverters (900VA/1115VA) failed to work, I dont trust manufacturer specifications and will rather go with experience.

Is Luminous the preferred brand of techenclave community? Is there a website link for your particular model?
Well, I got it by my own research. I am not sure you can generalize my opinion to the wider community. Wait for others to reply as well.

I have the same problem. My system is built around seasonic 430 S12 II. I have tried 750, 900 and 1150 watt inverters from Sukam and microtek. None of them worked. But I already made the investment so had to settled with Sukam falcon plus 1150. It can drive my TV, home theatre system and possibly every other things. But cannot power up my desktop. It always showed overload. This is probably the worst investment I have done till now.

Later I came to know that the problem is with Seasonic power supply and it is the culprit. I has some problem with non pure sine wave inverters. With low hold on time and may be withdrawing too much power during start.

Please tell me you get a remedy or else either I have to buy a different PSU.
