Storage Solutions Single Layer & Double Layer DVD Writer

Hi

Is is worth buying a HP Dual Layer DVD Writer for 1500 as compared to 1100 for a Samsung/LG Single Layer DVD Writer ?

HP Dual Layer DVD writer comes for 1250/-. And there are no single layer DVD writers available any more. The Samsung/LG DVD Writers available for 1100 are Dual Layer as well.

dual layer means it can burn single sided 8.5GB medias.

Please spare yourself trouble and go for LG or Samsung(don't recommend either), I bought a HP SATA DVD Writer approx 6-8 months back and it's a pain, sometimes won't open it's mouth, you have to try couple of times before it relents and then allows you to put your disc in it.

HP drives mostly support Light Scribe. Not sure if Samsung and LG do.
Light scribe is useful for etching labels on the back of a CD/DVD. (Need to buy those light scribe disks though)...
