Hey mods was thinking if we could have a single thread to post all the versions of an app for example all versions of nero under one thread ... so that we could cut down on the number of new threads created ... or would this have any impact on the site hits ??

Well it is up to the members cause we mods cant just go about forcing members to do the same...

Softwares like Auto patcher or something which has monthly updates can be incorporated for the same :)...

Hey like I said, posting all the drivers in a single thread will make it confusing and difficult to find , maybe you could create a thread to post all the ati catalyst drivers in one thread , one for nvidia forceware and so on ... and no need to repost anything just start with the next update

^^ Eh? This will lead to so many similar threads like Intel . Asus . nvidia. Ati. driver thread instead of that single Driver thread will do all the job :D. What say mods? :)_

I have to agree with thexfactor. Not everyone is running the same set of hardware for you to clearly define an "essential" driver thread. It would be easier to just break them down into driver 'sets' at the very least.

The idea is to make things simple, not complex. ;)

@thexfactor : Give it a test drive, lets see. As to it affecting hits - i have no idea, one of the admins can probably answer that better :)

single driver thread never works.

Specially not in apps section.

People will always look in GPU / CPU-mobo section for the solutions regarding the same.

Its better to have a thread for individual drivers as that way people can post whats their take on particular driver set. How well its working or what issues with this particular revision of drivers. Its easier for the person who is doing a search as well.

Its good to have single thread for particular app is its being officially supported by TE. Then it makes sense. But since TE is not supporting any developer or particular software its entirely upto the users.

^^ yup, appropriate driver in the appropriate section is more like it. And would be better if its made read only for the members, so that users wouldn't have to search pages to get to the download links.
