I'm currently trying to redesign my portfolio website, but I've lost creativity. I have done this so far:

But I feel that the content section (The white area) is too plain. I want to make it more "alive" but still keep it readable.

yh it looks fine to me, good use of background pic, and the background colour is fine

I think it would also depend on what type of work is in your portfolio, and what audience it is intended for

Well, seems how no one had any suggestions I decided to call it final and port it over to my blog. First time working on a blog template but it seemed to turn out good:
