the big news is that Skoda is working on an all-new SUV that will take on the likes of the Toyota Fortuner and Hyundai Santa Fe. This new offering will be a seven-seater, with plenty of space on the inside and three rows of seats.

This new SUV could be Skoda’s version of the Volkswagen CrossBlue SUV(image below) that is due to launch next year. It is expected to be around 4.6 meters in length and will also come with optional all-wheel drive.

Based on VW's MQB platform, this new seven-seater is expected to feature bold, cutting-edge styling. There are even rumours that it could get a sloping roofline like the Range Rover Evoque. Skoda has earlier said that its larger models will get bold, provocative styling to differentiate them from the mainstream. This new SUV’s design could just be the step in that direction.

This new seven-seat SUV would slot in above the Superb sedan in the carmaker's India line-up and prices are expected to be in the region of Rs 25-30 lakh.
