First off, fans of the survival-horror/psychological-horror franchise, please please play the original indie title - Slender: The Eight Pages. It is a free download and is available from multiple sources. Here is the direct download link from CNET and weighs in at a little less than 63 MB (120 MB after uncompressing). Don't forget to switch the lights off and up the volume of the speakers (headphones preferable) for creating that perfectly scary atmosphere in the room.

The Eight Pages was one of the *genuinely* scary and absolutely terrifying titles I've played in a long time - a must-play for horror fanatics. Makes even Amnesia and the Penumbra titles look piss easy! The sequel is due for early 2013 across all the major platforms including OS X.

Definitely a must play title 8 Pages! Although i got all of them in the 2nd try, Lucky Me! Later on playing some more of it Shook me! :D

What's it about?

A game which scared many people with some crying behind sofa's was called Slender. The aim of the original game to basically find eight pages attached to certain areas in an experimental horror setting of Dark Woods. But that's not all, as you are being stalked by a creepy entity that grows more persistent and relentless as each page is collected. Be careful though as this evil entity is ready to take you as soon as you even look at him.

But I can't believe I missed this one. May be I'm getting too old for this shit. Anyhoo, let's merge this b**ch and let's play the freaking game. I'm intrigued and getting it ASAP.
 
Have you played the original yet? I have something else on my plate right now. Will have to complete those first.
 
I didn't know there was an "original". This is the first time I heard of the title. Guess the indie horrors just manage to slip right past me.

This game creeped the hell out of me. I think I now understand the concept of these titles. The performance is ****ed up royally. I got around 30 frames locked with most settings on Ultra and the visuals really aren't that much to speak about. But the whole "being out alone in the woods stalked by an unknown entity" is enough to give you the chills. I found around 4 pages in the first chapter, before the "boogeyman" caught me. I'll try it later for sure.
