I am planning to buy a 21" TV. I wanted to know if there are some inherent issues with slim crts as claimed by some people.
Thanks

well u can go for a sony or philips tvs both are standard NON slim tvs.

What are the negative issues with slim & ultra-slim CRTs??? Can u list them here please.

I am looking for 29" CRT as of now.

I have been advising this to everyone I know who is about to buy a CRT TV.. Do NOT go for the slimline/ultraslim/slimfit types.. They might save some space, but they have problems in the form of geometry issues, colour patching, etc. I had learnt this the hard way. Got a Philips Slim CRT TV, which I had to replace twice, 'coz it had very ugly colour patches on the 4 corners, and the image appeared distorted towards one side. Finally had to settle for a Samsung slimline, which was offered as a replacement by the dealer.. It is fine now.. but once in a while it also develops colour patches, but thankfully, they disappear in a few seconds..!
Save yourself all these headaches, and settle for the well-known standard CRTs.. :)

^ As it is ATM no TV channel in India supports full or even half HD. So CRT rocks for the time being.

Which brand mpranav?

It would be useful if people with slim TVs post their experiences along with brands. This would help give a statistical idea of which slim TV to consider.
