Slot Reservations on TE CSS server. Vote inside.

Hi guys.
wanted to ask this.
Do you guys want me to reserve slots for the Team Te members?
If yes then you will always get in.
The down side is if its implimented and you join when server is full someone will be kicked out.
If its not implimented you will almost always fine server full during afternoon and evening when most people try to play.
Let me know.
 
To be honest i think it will be a bad idea... Simply put if i were to be kicked from a server for no fault of mine i will try not to play on that server again... Also What if all 16 slots are being occupied by TE members only... What will happen then...

In a nutshell i am against it but let others also speak up...

Dont just kick off anybody without informing them....

better option would be to let the current game get over and then either the oldest( playing time) player there / or the newest gets a message and then he is disconnected.

The criteria of selecting who gets disconnected you guys can decide after taking into account all the factors.

A message informing " Due to player overload you are being temporarily disconnected. please join in after a short while.To enjoy uninterrupted playing time kindly make a monthly donation of Rs. .....(to be decided)"
can be implemented. This money can be used to augment the server bandwidth if required. ....This is just imho.

The monthly donation can be as little as Rs.25/- to Rs. 50/-per TE member.
 
What Dj suggested is good but there is a catch... Even if a member pays Rs 25/50 then also there wont be a gurantee of him being getting a slot all the time... Thats the sole reasone i havent even suggested slot reservation for members who are renting the servers...

What can be done is that if the first month kicks off well then we can rent another server next month by letting few more people contributing the money or make our server a 24 slot server instead of a 16 slot server...
 
IMO locking the server from say 9PM to 11 and sharing the password between TE members only is a better idea than reserve slots. If i ever get kicked from a server, no way am I going back there. And that isnt the best way to spread the word bout TE.

yeah that sound good. so say around 9 one of the admins locks server and password will be given to only TE members ;)
 
I say yes coz the people who are paying for the server should have freedom to play as and when they like.

The non-paying members should be kicked out and preference given to the paying members....

Ok... after reading the above posts....

Why cant you increase the number of slots??

Thats what i was hinting at switch .....we can utillise the extra money to either augment the present server or rent another once sufficient players make donations.

FYI: the members paying that meagre donation will have priority over the non-paying members when the server is full. even when both of them are in the que to join the game.;)

RE: Time slot thing : when are the non-peak hours on the server :huh: ...that lean period can be sererved for all , meaning no disconnection ...:ohyeah:
 
If the server were for us paying members only..then it would have been locked 24/7...buti ts not so..which is why it was suggested earlier for a reserverd timeslot of 2-3hrs for only TE members.

I think we better start implementing this.
 
Well frankly speaking I was able to join everytime I wanted to play. So I really don't think there is a need for reservation etc. The bad thing was that I suck horribly in CS though... just too used to run and gun of Q3 :P.
 
Well, i say have the reserved slots, for people who pay for it.

If you pay for it, you should get some benefits dont you think?
 
^^ Nah you can ask regular non-TE players to contribute and then gradually increase to a 24/32 slot server...

Anything above 16 Slots is suicide.

If you want thai's playing in your server alll day, your free to make it 20, 24, 32.

Anish, if you dont know what Thai's play like, Ask any1 :).
 
16 players is the max, coz above that, it takes ages to respawn, and ofcource stupid pl come and play on the server, camp in one corner for the entire duration which makes it really annoying, i kinda like a 12 player server but yea 16 is good, so if u do get enough cash, dont increase the server slot, just increase the no of servers, it will give out a positive note as well since it shows TE is big :P

oh and I am against the player slot reservation thing for obvious reasons stated above, i agre that ppl who paid shud get some benifits but you are getting the mani admin rights, arent you... :P

Actually we can make it (if you have enough cash) :

1. Server with max priority for TE members. Others can even be kicked out for TE members.

2. Regular server where no reservations. TE/Non-TE members play here, but TE members can use server 1 if there are enough players.

What say ?
 
we will see about that in future.

As of now its 1 server.

And Anish thai's are special breed when it comes to the CSS.

Half the ban list on any server will be thai guys. I had to ban 1 dude today bcoz he was speed hack lamer :P
