Graphic Cards slots blocked by 4670 on Gigabyte G31

Guys,

I am currently having
E5300
Gigabyte G31-E2SL
Corsair DDR2 800Mhz 2 x 2GB RAMs
1TB WD + 320GB Seagate
Hauppauge pvr 150
Corsair vx450

I am a very casual gamer and i play games like CSS, LOTR:Battle for middle earth, AOE,....

But the onboard video plays CSS at 10 fps in all low settings.

Planning to upgrade to a 4670,
but looking at the size of it, i am wondering if all my pci slots will be blocked?

I dont think it will block your other PCI slot.

It also depends on the size of your cabinet.

I am using ATI 4870 1 gb Sonic Edition gfx card on G31 board and its not blocking my other PCI slot

:D

Could you please let me know how the size of cabby dictates this
G31 S2L is a MAtx board and installing any dual-slot card is going to block all or most PCI slots on this mobo

^^ I inserted TV tuner as well as my gfx card on my mobo.

Size of cabby matters because sometimes even the card fits in but it touches some part of the cabby

I am talking about oridinary cabbies provided by local vendors

:D

one port will be blocked.
2nd with card will cover the fan..

also 2nd slot can hold card..
so u can have 1 pci stuff
try use 1x PCIE above it with future card

better get an xfx 9600gt buddy. Its a single slot design. I think leadtek 9600gt also single slot design.

Though the card which you say is single slot design, the HS is big and it will surely block atleast 1 pci slot

so better get xfx 9600gt (non- green edition ). Its better than 4670 too...

Exactly go for a single slot design. :)

9600GT is a good card. Go for the single slot and both ur PCI slots will be spared.
Though, if u are not going to use 1 slot, then even if u use the PCI slot below the card for a tuner card, that won't be an issue.

Get a side fan for better airflow to the graphics card. :cool2:
