Slow FTP upload speed after Windows reinstall

I reinstalled XP and updated to SP3. Ever since then, my FTP upload seems to be capped at 44 KB/S. Rolling back to SP2 didn't fix the problem. Before that reinstall, I usually uploaded to my FTP server at around 80KB/S and my line can handle even a little more than that. Torrents still run along fine at around 90 KB/S.

Airtel 1mbit.

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.
 
Have you tried multiple ftp clients? I don't think there are any specific issues with ftp after updating to sp3
 
theres no specific reason for the slowdown or anything.

Try using FileZilla or CuteFTP kind of softwares.

Also check with the server's load etc.
 
Cute FTP is even slower. I can't go above 20KB/S. Flash FXP caps me at 44. This is to my own server where there's no load at all apart from my single upload. Just last week I was uploading there using Flash FXP at 80+KB/S constantly.
 
ok really weird. Smart FTP is letting me upload at 100KB/S. Flash FXP caps me at 44 and CuteFTP caps me at around 20.

i don't understand why speeds would vary so much over different clients and no i haven't enabled any bandwidth limiters on any of them
