I have a 10/100 cat5 cable and router going approx 100 ft. as my source for internet (made the cable myself, and didn't have any problems before)
My ISP is adelphia cable
on counterstrike i sometimes get 1k+ ping... what the hell?
also, my AIM and XFire keep logging in and out, reconnecting, etc.
as per cs, it's not the servers, it's me. because i find if i just have steam and counterstrike open, and under the right conditions, i don't lag. but otherwise, i lag horribly and cant even play
ive been getting a targa error at times, mostly when trying to load the map de_nuke, i don't know if that has anything to do with it, i couldnt find a solution when searchign steam forums, i'm also going to make a post there about it
also, noramlly when i'm lagging two applications in particular are taking up way too much memory, as shown below.
i don't know whats going on with my computer but it is eviiilllllll
