Linux Slow network printing in ubuntu

Hi

i have installed ubuntu10 on several systems and have installed cannon ir3300 printer.pdf and jpg printing takes long time to print.I have downloaded driver from cannon and tried but no change.kindly suggest me a solution for this problem.
 
Can you explain what you mean by "long time" to print?

Does the printer work faster on other machines/OS ?

Is the printer specification itself of slower speed compared to, say, an HP model? (See the "PPM" number - pages per minute)

Can you modify the print quality - if its "high" make it "medium" and see?

Normally heavy graphics like a JPG (or PDF) do take long time which is okay. What if you print a normal word document/webpage with minimal graphics?

But its because it doesnt have proper ubuntu driver...some sharp printer.

It takes around a minute to process request. :(
 
Sadly, I couldn't find anything on the Net, thats why people recommend HP everywhere - My all-in-one works super fine :p

First of all thanks for quick reply.Printer works fine and fast in windows machine.I face the problem only with ubuntu machine.
"Long time" means time taken to process the print request and not actual printing.
Actually printer specification is okay.
Normal prnt like xls or word will comes comparitively paster than pdf or jpg.But pdf or jpg performance is good in case of windows machine.

I downloaded drivers directly from cannon website.But problem still persist.
