Guys 2 weeks ago I updated my Win 10 Ent 64bit edition to the latest Oct 2020 major update (windows wasn't updated ever since Jan this yr)
Update and etc. all went smooth no issues or hiccups.

Since 10 days I'm observing/facing these issues:
  1. Windows boot times have increased a bit.
  2. When I login to any user it take a while to loads all the programs/systray icons etc. (The loading times have increased)
  3. When I shutdown the pc, monitor light and hdd/power light on cabinet stays on for 5-8secs but screen goes blank.
This is all after the update as earlier all the activities used to happen instantly.

Specs: (no OC all stock)
I7 2600
Asus P8Z68-V
18gb ram
Asus GTX690
Temps on both cpu/gpu all cool ideally and on loads.
Intel SSD 400gb (boot drive)
500gb*2 + 1tb*2 (mix ST/WD)

Is this has to do anything windows new recovery partition etc?
Event viewer also is not of any help.

The problem is windows 10. Such a shitty OS.

Check your hard drive controller for proper DMA operation. Also check the SMART for interface crc errors. But my first guess is it's software.

Forgot to mention ssd & hdds all are in great health.
& Facing the black screen issue as well when the monitors display goes blank and unable to resume while num lock functions and monitors led isnt amber but white.
After tapping keyboard keys the pc freezes after few secs and ultimately have to reboot and then event viewer has no traces as well...

2 things:
1. Windows 10 version 2004 is buggy as hell. Try to update to the latest version 2H20
2. For the black screen issue, it's either your Cable, Port or the GPU. Try with a new cable, a different port and if still persist, try a different GPU.

For the issue of shutdown (lights stay on), turn off fast startup from the power options and see if that solves the issue.

Was your pc non-operational for few weeks or months? If so i would reseat the ram and clear cmos memory..
For past 8 months it is operating for at least 12-14hrs every single day..
Did you clean (after latest update) all old windows update files etc.
Already done..

with my secondary system I found randomly no display issue/restart in between, display screen turn pinkish etc. since last 10 days, was unable to guess what went wrong...

Change display cable but problem not solved and one day just randomly change PSU (has spare psu with me) and problem got solved.

hth you any way
