Hello,

As The Dealer Feedback thread is becoming hard to manage and understand for people, Microthreads for each dealer are being created to allow everyone to categorize their issues with one particular dealer and to allow the dealer to concentrate on his thread without having to go through pages and pages of feedback pertaining to all other dealers.

Kindly use these threads when necessary, but refrain from creating new ones when you have an issue as it becomes hard to manage for the dealers and people tend not to read your feedback after a while. Modifications will come in time as decisions are taken. Kindly bear with us till this process is completed. More updates soon...

Best Regards,
SoMxNemesis.

Bought CoolerMaster 430 cabinet, 500GB seagate HDD and P55M-UD2 from SMC international. Prices are good. Very responsive, answers all queries and replies to email etc.

Would definitely buy from them again. :thumb:

Is this thread not supposed to be for issues being faced?

It would be nice if people stuck to that.
errr... feedback can be both positive and negative.. right ???:S IMO adding a poll on top would be a good addition to keep track of the overall reputation.

Dont know if that would work. Perhaps some sort of mechanism to link it with deals so that only members who have dealt can vote. :cool2:

Edit: Sorry for OT. The initial post by Somxnemesis surely states that it has to be issues but IMHO feedback should be both ways. Just my opinion

+1 to a public poll..

That ll take care of the positives as well as negatives regarding any dealer. + less effort to get across the actual feedback.

^ Sorry, i've already discussed the possibility of a poll for each dealer with the mods. But they have a point too. if the focus shifts fromt he iTrader rating system.. it would make it useless.

There are positives and negatives to both sides.. but as of now the voting option is a no go.

I know the iTust thingy yaar. The thing is that I find searching for threads easier. Moreover if the iTrust would have been working fine we wouldn't have needed the individual dealer threads in the first place. Maybe its just me :P

If you have already discussed then I guess the whole bunch would have considered the pros and cons in much better way than I can alone think of. Plus the iTrust thing if directly added to the individual threads on top (no poll but just direct display and link) will add value to each other. Just my 2 cents if that helps. :)

Ordered a Coolermaster Coolingpad off their website. Get this, they sent me a "PINK" cooling pad, albeit accidentally. Upon confrontation, he said I would have to go to LAMINGTON Road to get it exchanged.

Got quite peeved considering I paid him for the product + shipping so that I wouldn't have to make a 2 hour journey, each way, to Lamington Road.

Guess what, I'm still stuck with the lousy pink cooling pad, haven't even used it yet.

Bottom line, definitely not dealing with an incompetent bunch like them again.

I want to know if there have been any major issues with goods from SMC? Read 1-2 posts from other members in other threads. One case had CPU gone bad and the other motherboard were bad and had to be returned. Any other such incidents?

You are probably referring to my case where the SNB chip had gone bad. It was a case of DOA. I had sent a PM to SMC informing the same and they have promptly responded back asking me to have the faulty processor sent back to them.

Ordered Linksys wireless router on Saturday morning (NEFT payment done) from SMC.

They informed me that they receive payment updates once in 24 hours so they will ship on Monday.

No response on Monday, after I sent them a PM (Monday night) they responded on Tuesday that payment was received and they will ship on Tuesday.

Got no shipping details on Wednesday and no response to PM sent on Wednesday evening.

Called them on Thursday morning and after telling them the order number they hung up and no one bothered to call back (if it was accidental).

I bought an i5 2500k processor, MSI P67A-GD65 motherboard, Corsair Vengeance 4 GB X 1 RAM and CM 460W Extreme Power Plus PSU. I was having problems with freezes and high temperatures(86C on load with no overclocking). When I reported this issue to the SMC salesman on phone, he recommended me to buy a Corsair H80 even though I have told him that I haven't overclocked my processor till now. When I went to one of the techs to report this issue, the guy said that my motherboard is faulty and needed to be replaced, he even reapplied thermal paste but the temps were still 60+ on idle. SMC International Delhi salesmen intentionally sell faulty hardware for looting new customers. Now the problem which isn't seen by most members is that SMC salesmen already know which hardware that they have in stock is faulty and which is not faulty. Thats why they recommended me this MSI motherboard even though I wanted to go with a GIGABYTE motherboard. Infact this specific motherboard which they recommended me turned out to be faulty. I would strongly recommend not to buy from SMC International Delhi

Dear Sir,

Our sincere apologies for the inconvenience that you may have suffered due to any fault on our part.

Contrary to your claim, we do not know which hardware is defective - we simply supply the products from the manufacturer to our customers, in the same state as we received them in.

We would like to know your invoice number, complete purchase details, and a description of the complaint you have with the product(s). We'll take action as soon as we have this information, and an RMA should address the issue(s) at hand.

My friend (on my specific recommendation) purchased a Llano 3850, a Gigabyte GA-A75 UD2H and a Dell U2311H from SMC directly on their website, and had it all shipped to Calcutta.

They shipped him the wrong motherboard, and the monitor was very badly damaged in transit, with a big dent in the screen. The CPU was fine, but I made my friend insist on the UD2H instead of the ATX version they shipped him (which cost the same as the UD2H but had a few less connectivity options). Genuine mistake?

I'd like to think so. Except that when I last went to their shop asking for a 6970 Lightning, the sales guy very confidently said he had it and the counter guy took my card to charge. The sales guy then came out and asked (for the second time) which card I wanted, and after scratching his head he indeed did not have it (which was the counter guy's initial feeling). So there is still a bit of cockiness that needs to be flushed from the system.

Anyway, after a couple of conversations of them trying to use heavy tech talk (such as saying Firewire is dead), they agreed to take my friend's motherboard back and issue him a refund or credit. Eventually he is getting an Asus D2X in exchange + difference.

About the monitor, the service was extremely prompt - they got it replaced no questions asked, and he didn;t even need to ship it to Delhi, they got that done locally.

All in all, a mixed bag but a decent experience.

i have till now ordered two items from them. a WD caviar black. DOA.. Got a replacement from WD in a week. Packing was bad on the HDD. informed them and the next one was packed very well. a hyper 212 plus which was delivered within two days.. exceptionally fast. great communication. would definitely deal with them
