Just finished the movie.

Sad to see such a cleverly made flick failing so miserably at the Box Office.

Didn't even run for a week in Chennai :(

would definitely love to see more of such work coming from an industry renowned for churning out inane flicks .....
 
Missed out on Ocean's 13, Apocalypto, Zodiac and Jonny Gaddar..

no company for these movies..

wil call u up the next time ... spice mall is just in my backyard.. :P

I plan to catch up JQ on home video soon ...

Incredible movie, tops even Khosla Ka Ghosla.
Loved every second of it from the 70's style intro to the end credits music.

No songs, still 3hrs. long, and yet never felt boring - That's material for you :)
 
Though loved the movie..like the actors acting........

But found alot of loops in the story.....which i caught.....while watching...

But still give 7 out of 10 .........

Loops are bound to be there..:D

But it was entertaining..

I am pretty sure if the starcast was big...say add Akshay Khanna,Bobby Deol etc.. i.e Medium level actors.. even then it would be box office success..!!
 
Suspense often has no connection to whatever is goin on in the film..

Some abrupt behind the scene activity and then we know that killer was this chap with his hidden motives..etc etc.. Its no fun any more..

in Johny Gaddar It was interesting to watch him fall in awkward position ever time and luckily he got out.
 
I loved the movie

Have been recommending it to every one I know......

Loved the story but didnt like the ending!!!

It has to be one of the best hindi movies i've watched in recent times after Black friday. Those who are saying tht there was no suspense, need to know that its not always the whodunnit tht makes a good suspense..the director had the audience know from the very starting as to who the gaddaar was..but it was the way in which the other characters were left guessing that made it really interesting. And the surprise factor was still there till the end of the movie. When u thought the movie wud go this way, it took a completely different turn and that was what really made it an awesome thriller...

Shriram raghavan is a very good director...he had already proved it with 'Ek haseena thi'...and this movie goes one step ahead in his portfolio...:ohyeah:

All the actors did a gr8 job and the new guy, Neil mukesh never looked like a new comer..he played his part like a seasoned actor...he sure has a long way to go..And the best part about the movie was tht all the songs were cut short and put in the background..so it never really affected the pace of the movie...

Overall, a very good thriller....9/10 from my side..:D
 
^ Its so true what the ticket seller said, " Film zabardast hai, par audience bekaar hai"....thts unfortunately so true... The audience here wud skip a good movie to watch a bare chested shahrukh khan do a idiotic movie and still say, "paisa vasool"...thts the psyche of an average movie goer here in india... And the proof is in the fact that that stupid movie "jab we met" was declared hit by the public as they got to see all that they wanted to see...big starcast, song n dance, mushy love story, drama...a perfect recipe for a friggin blockbuster...:no: I wudnt even bother to check out such a pathetic movie even if i won a free ticket...

The stars here sell more than a good story...i'm 100% sure tht farah khan and sanjay leela bhansali have done what they had to do to promote their movies...their movies will no doubt be big hits even if they are below standard, which i presume, they are..especially "Om shanti Om". Thats going to be a stupid dumb movie on the lines of "Main hoon naa" ...mark my words...:| Neways, what more can one expect of Farah khan...:no:

As long as we have audience like this in india, movies like Johnny gadaar will always be flops...:no: And by the time those few who really appreciate contemporary cinema spread the word about it, the movie is already removed from the theaters..:no: Thts such a bad scenario...

Only karan johar style movies are considered blockbusters in Bollywood... Forget about ever seeing movies like schindler's list or a beautiful mind coming out of bollywood...:|

Saw Jab WE MET & MANORAMA-6FEET UNDER yday. liked them too !

btw the average Indian movie lover wants the run of the mill bollywood masala...

Make "Memento" as it is and noone will undst...it will fail miserably...

lift the storyline add few songs make it linear and predicatable with a love story as prelude it works...talking of Ghajini...the climax was so shitty in Ghajini...(Tamil and Telugu)

Now imagine bollywood remaking the fountain....it'll be a disaster here...:lol:

i totally agree with u mate...these bollywood people cant even come close to churning out some brilliant stuff like those u mentioned...
they just want to make mindless masala stuff to mint money which actually offers nothing contentwise...
i personally hate those farah,karan johar movies...all bull$hit!

Think of a movie like "The shawshank redemption" being remade here....
it wud be as disaster.. even if it has bollywood's so called king:rofl: khan in lead...

Just the hint of the plot...not a remake :P

Theres this love story till interval and the girl gets killed...and the guy left with short term memory loss...

Now its also being made by Aamir Khan...He says he will stick to the Tamil Ghajini coz Memento is confusing and will not be undstood by the average fan(Dont blame him)
 
One cant blame film-maker for any of this... He is here to make money.
He will make films that general public respond to. People at our place love those Love triangles, with rich/poor plot and some high end musicals and happy ending etc..

Anything offbeat goes flop in these conditions,

Consider Page 3:- It was hit ONLY IN METROS, apart form thats its HUGE FLOP.
Consider 16 December (A movie made years ago, Milind Soman was actor), Now i loved the movie but it was huge flop again..

Because of that Karan Johar, Yashraj etc are minting money in our country, they know what general public wants and just editing tits bits, they give exactly same thing again and again..

These days even Priyadarshan is boring, i dont remember any of his interesting movie after Hungama, Same thing with Abbas Mustan.

And these slightly solid movie like Johhny gaddar has no high star cast or director or locations so they dont manage to attract enough attention, so the fail.

Although we are catching up, but its we are still long way before films like Crank,Memento are accepted here..!!
