Frankly I really don't trust HKEPC.

They're stuff is always in chinese (:@) they always come out first with reviews (RD580, G70, etc.) and they're results are always the wierdest.

Actually I'm only going to start looking at comparisons after the official release.

agreed...that being said seems like AM2 brings little in the way of excess performance maybe just a few improvements technically... I always felt that Nforce 4 was a chipset before its time and it hasn't matured technologically yet... I think Nforce 4 SLI x16 and even the humble NF 4 ultra still have the goods....
Infact I am one of the few (unashamedly admitting to it) waiting for AM2 to actually go for an NF 4 SLI or maybe an X16.... I have a more than decent PC right now and can afford to wait...:P

Well, first of all, i dont believe a word HKEPC says, except, that they get the products first :P.

According to that, AM2 is not even a tad bit faster.

Plus, the idiots havent tested HL2, by far, the most CPU Intensive game out there.

...... Bye Bye :bye: AM2.. Welcome Conroe...

well we agree Goldy...AM2 isn't faster not even by a 'tad'....
I am looking forward to the conroe dropping the prices of the X2 and D9xx series...maybe the D840EE...:P who knows..

^^ No use.

The 855EE or even the 955XE, are just pathetic in performance compared to a 2.66 Ghz Conroe (which will be cheap :P)

EE series processors will probably drop $50 no matter how much Conroe is priced... so yes, you'll save some $50 :ohyeah:

Don't u think goldie its too early to say such things ....

as AM2 is still in development if it was developed AMD wud have launched it already .....

and about intel i don't belive anything .... remember netburst going 10Ghz
maybe conroe is better than AM2 ..... but wait for the products to arrive :)

I dont get it... if you guys dont belive what some1 has to say then whats the fuss about??? Dont crap the thread if you are not down with the ideas guys. Deep down inside we all want AM2 to be just as fast as Conroe at same speed.. well yes even I want that to happen as it will get us better deal for same amount of money may be. But as of now, in their smaple states, Conroe is really leaping ahead and AM2 looks like will need low-latency DDR2+ some super tweaks.

yeah that's what I thought.. was just hoping ;) ... wishful thinking.... I remember the 955EE and the 840EE being good @ vid encoding and 4 CPU's would mean I can game and music and burn dvd's together...I need something that'll save me some time...

heh...using a D840EE @ office rite now.... awesome proccy... using a P180 to keep this cool....

If chip's speed rating is same, then performance of the chips should be nearly same.
That was the case when AMD migrated from 110nm to 90nm, it should be same this time around when migration is made to 65nm, so i think these benchmarks should be correct.µ

AMD never went to 110 nm :P It was from 130 to 90.
