Software to end certain processes forcibly

hello guys, can u plz suggest a good software to end a process forcibly in windows xp sp3. i have some divx/mkv files but some of them dont play in windows xp sp3 with windows media player 11. in such case nothing happens when i run the media file and in taskmanager m not able to end the wmplayer.exe process.
is there any way/ software to end it forcibly ??. plz reply asap..

It will help you release the file from wmplayer.

anfjavid, Anvir Task Manager Free works for me where Windows Task Manager doesn't. I'd say give it a try:

does the command like "taskkill /f /im wmplayer.exe" not work?

what error msg does taskbar give when trying to kill this process ?
