You should go with on grid if you have proper supply of electricity because it is cheaper and less maintenance system. With your area you can ger at least 2 kw system which will reduce your 16 rs slab units.

did you call your area electricity department ?
Call them once and ask how it works in your state. the link above is for vendors in your state .
Here in Patna, Bihar, the electricity generated by solar is deducted from my daily consumption. For example, if I use 40 units in a day and the solar system generates 30 units, at the end of the month I would only pay for 10 units.
