Update: SSD sold
The enclosure has a generic outer aluminium shell to help with heat dissipation but the board itself uses a Realtek controller for the NVMe bridge, which is much more stable and performant compared to the JMicron ones used in most of the cheaper enclosures. As a result, you can also flash the firmware from other manufacturers that use the same chipset, which are regularly available on the web. It also supports SATA SSD at 5 Gbps (will go with 6 Gbps as that is what the Chipset supports).
The performance is quite good at over 900 Mbps. However, the provided Type C cable is rubbish and works very inconsistently, providing full speeds only when attached in a particular orientation. While I will include it, the suggestion would be to get a better cable.
