How to Delete-proof(not write protect) a drive?

Hiding files...making files in a drive delete-proof without any application
A. Everybody has a huge collection of R-rated movies or tv shows like spartacus, game of thrones, californication which we do not want others to access
But how do we hide them

1. i simply put them in a folder (e:\movies\xxx)
and make it system hidden(using attrib)

but its easily accessible when u type the address in address bar

2. and another way is to make the folder 'access denied'
like the message we get when we access the 'system volume information' folder

i tried using the security tab(using cacls.exe command)(only in ntfs system)
and is a pretty good method but get a message below the access denied 'u can change it using security tab'
so u can revert that as well

3. and there is another stupid way to make the folder recycle bin/control panel etc etc
which makes it more obvious that there is something fishy here
i know even simply changing the attribute of the folder is enough as most non-techies wont be able to change it.
but is there any other fool proof-way
?
B. and one more thing is there any way to make the whole drive delete-proof
i mean when we try to delete or move /modify the file we should get a access denied message but should be able to read or access the file

I use bitlocker to secure my important data from unauthorized access. As suggested by vivacious_tg you can try that.

You need to give password only once after a reboot, after that the drive is unlocked and any application can access it.

so u create a new thread after posting in "rate the movies you last saw"...

Okay i'll give one option without using any security thing...

change the extension to any unknown or different formats,

for eg: a clip "xxx.avi" is changed to "af_dll.icc or pK.gn or term.file", and place this file in C:windows/system32/ or whereever u feel that this file location is twisted...

And if u need more security, just rar this with password...

Even a professional cant find this, and always clear the cache and history by using ccleaner...

that i do for u know some very important files(metaphor)...

i make iso for them instead of rar for easy accessibility

security is secondary most important should be easy accessibility

What about the B part guys is there any way to do that...

hide the entire drive. Remove the drive's letter. It'll render it inaccessible. Unless a geek uses your system and snoops around to see the number of HDD partitions under the

manage > drive config, no one will ever know.

op,

You can change the security settings of a folder(properties -> security tab -> edit and check deny for all users) and can change all the attributes to Deny for all other PC users except you.

^^ why don't you make other accounts as standard accounts and yours only as administrator.

I believe standard users cannot change any thing.

IIRC i too started a thread for a similar purpose. Got no satisfactory result.
Now i use Everstrike hide folder ver 3.1 under xp, this is not compatible with win 7, for that you have to get the newer version.
This application is simply great, add the files or folder simply by drag-and-drop, next you can set security options like read/visibility/write/no access, and yes it is password protected as well.drop, next you can set security options like read/visibility/write/no access, and yes it is password protected as well.

hows that?

a brief tutorial will help us all...

right click on my computer > manage > disk management > you'll get the list of HDD partitions available. > right click on the drive to hide > drive letters and paths > remove > remove the letter assigned to that drive > done!!

So that particular drive will disappear from my computer. Since it has no drive letter assigned to it, its pretty much inaccessible by anyone.

The ONLY way to access the drive is to reassign it a drive letter. Neat eh?

Truecrypt is too professional....

what i did... is used the cacls method i posted...

and removed the security tab using Group policy editor

and of course the attrib command
