Some Questions regarding Broadband and Torrent

1. is the speed tests reliable ? coz my speed in calcutta telephones website shows ~263 kbps while the airtel shows ~340kbps :S

2.Does Du-Meter or any speed/usage meter give correct data ? coz my d/l in Bitcomet is 30 kBps while DU meter shows 62 kBps



3.Do the broadband tweaks works for people with 256 kbps connection ?

Edit: i have BSNL 256 kbps home 500 connection .

What ISP is that? And did you perform the speed tests one after the other or was there a long gap between the tests?

Bittorrent seems to be going at good speeds even if your real speed was 340kbps.

And as for point 3, i'll personaly say no, they hardly make a difference and mess stuff up instead.

the speed tweaks hardly do any difference for us mortals with 256kbps....it may do some better for higher connections like 1mbps or higher...
