So, I have never been to delhi , this is the first time visiting. Need to go to a friend's place and stay there for a month or so, so I'll have alot of bags. I don't know what route to choose but I do know my dropping point of bus is ISBT Kashmere Gate. I know the address to where I need to go , it's something like this :

DLF Phase 3 U block flat no XYZ. 35/46 gurgaon haryana , 122002

My friend who stays there told me to go to the metro, make the card there costs around 200 and then get down at the 2nd last station. And he said some more stuff blah bah blah, I thought I'll give him a call anyways, so not a biggie.

though just now Uber came to my mind.. uber olacabs and all. Heard much abt them, and can anyone help me to decde if metro will be good or uber? and if price is not much of a difference b/w both, I would like to take the cab. Also I will have quite expensive stuff with me so is ola/uber safe? I damn know metro is not as a friend of mine got his iPhone stolen there. anyways, coming to the point, need to go to the above address from ISBT, what should I do ?

hmm so I see uber has got many discounts aswell, even some 500+ ones for first time, and I am a first timer, I have never downloaded their app or made an acc with any cab company, so guys do help me with some coupons if u see.

Gurgaon to kashmere gate is a cab would be expensive. Better to take the metro from kashmere gate to gurgaon ( its direct ).
You don't have to get the card for Rs. 200, you can just get the token(ticket) for Rs.25 , also if you do get the card, you can return it and get the refund (- ticket cost).
Although if you are alone and have many bags, then metro may not be a good option, specially if you are traveling during peak hours, weekday.
Safety shouldn't be an issue. At least not any more than traveling in any other place in India.

Edit: it seems after reaching gurgaon via metro (sikanderpur station) you can just take the guragon rapid metro directly from the sikanderpur metro station to DLF PHASE III

Take the yellow line metro till Guru Dronacharya station in GGN. Forget the Rapid Metro cause you will still have to take an auto once you get off at the rapid metro. Might as well pay 50-70 bucks from the Guru Dronacharya station. The Sikanderpur----->rapid metro internal, station to station walk a quite a bit with baggage. The auto will drop you right home. 95% of your journey will be covered by the metro.
