Sony debuts Powerful PSP battery for 11 hours of gaming

Sony Japan has announced a new battery pack for the PSP, it has a capacity of 2200 mAh which is 1,000mAh more than the standard 1200mAh battery. The peeped up battery is compatible with the new PSP (PSP-2000) only. When installed it delivers around 7 - 11 hours of continuous gaming and 7 - 9 hours of video playback. The new battery pack goes on sale in Japan from March 19 for 5500 Yen ($ 50).

I have this battery. Maxconsole, Exophase and other people state that japanese PSP 280 series battery CANT be used to make Pandora batteries.
 
nah man. I bought my PSP phat a year ago. It lasts around 5.5 hours max. When I bricked my PSP while updating it to 3.90 M33, I googled for Pandora's Battery and found that Japanese batteries cannot make PBs :(... So I'm kinda stuck with it as of now.
 
5 hours is meant for phat psp. For slim psp it should last for about 9-10 hours atleast...but $50 is too costly :(

the current psp slim battery lifetime is very less i.e. 5 hours.

BTW i have seen some third party batteries for about Rs. 600 at play-asia which promises abt 10-11 hours playtime on psp slim but i don't that whether it is safe to use these 3rd party batteries with the psp.
 
play-asia is really cool. Delivery takes abt 2 weeks to reach ur place.

BTW, is this new battery meant for psp slim only? Earlier Sony had released a 2200 mAh battery which was compatible with psp phat and psp slim but since the battery was a little fat, a new battery cover meant for psp slim was given free with the fat battery.

But for this battery it's written that it's meant for psp slim only. If this is true then this is not a good thing by Sony. Infact i would say F**K Sony. That's bcoz i just purchased PSP Slim from Sony World 2 months ago and got the official 1200 mAh battery which lasts only for abt 5 hours. Now, why the hell did they give away a 1200 mAh battery with new psp slims when they were abt to release a 2200 mAh battery. They should have given 2200 mAh battery with psp slim. Many people had expected that new PSP Slim would have greater battery life but Sony only released slim with 1200 mAh. Now they are selling a 2000 mAh battery separately so ppl have to shell out more money...

One word: Pathetic...
 
Hope the come out with slimmer and lighter Lithium Polymer batteries. I guess there should be battery exchange programm like we'd seen for Laptops. What say?

that's bcoz ur fat psp would have batery capacity greater than 1200mAh. But for psp slim sony reduced the capacity to 1200 mAh, and now they want to sell a higher capacity battery separately.
