Sony Ericsson Neo V for Rs.17,995.

I think anyone going for this phone would not hesitate to shell out extra Rs.1000 for Xperia Ray. SE has to get it's pricing right for Neo V for good sales.

^Not really. Some might needed a bigger screen and HDMI and optfor Neo V.

Those who prefer a sleeker, compact phone with a better camera will go for Ray. They wont overlap IMHO as they target slightly different set of audiences.

I didn't know about the Neo V. It seems its 99% the same as Neo but with a smaller camera of 5MP.

comparison: Sony Ericsson Xperia neo V vs. Sony Ericsson Xperia Neo - GSMArena.com

Also seems to have some feature only compatible with Sony's 3d capable TV's.

Found another one: 2GB card included with 'V' instead of 8GB with original Neo.

Overall seems like a good price for 16k. What do you guys suggest? I can't find any reviews.

Cyanogenmod has also been announced for it. Interesting.

That has dealer warranty which means if you have trouble with the phone, you'll have to ship it back to where you bought it from. Manufacturer warranty is the official SE warranty system afaik.

I searched again, no reviews at all. Is this phone releasing first in India?? Or did most people make the same mistake as me and thought its the same as the Neo :p

You can check the comparison at the official site here : Xperia Neo V Vs Xperia Neo
Apart from camera, there does not seem to be any significant change, only smaller features here and there, which will not make any difference to a normal user.

I've checked that but I'm more interested in the camera performance. Can't rely on the megapixel count. Already been burnt by Nokia 5800 :p

The phone is quite new but I guess that there should be a few user uploads from the Neo V on flickr.

It is now on sale(in stock) in letsbuy.com (delivery in 3-5 days according to the site), although flipkart.com says that the expected arrival time is 3rd week of Oct.

The only difference that matters is the Sony Exmor R Sensor with 8Mpx camera in Neo versus the generic sensor with 5 Mpx in Neo V. obviously Exmor R sensor has better quality and low light capabilities.

Thats the thing... Even 5800 had a 3.2 MP Carl Zeiss lens which were supposedly the best at the time. Just recall N73 which also had the same camera module and the praise it got. I DO NOT want to repeat the same mistake again

sensor has much effect in better quality pics than the lens so it cannot be compared to the carl-zeiss lens issue etc, for eg low Mp cam in iphone gets better image than similar Mp cam in other phone due to it's better sensor :)

try and compare the pic samples. especially low light.

Neo V available for 17500-1200 = 16300/- with free BT headset at letsbuy after applying icicilb coupon code, or 16500/- after applying amexlb.

17500/- at flipkart with BT headset.

That's exactly what I'm waiting for. A comparison of the 5MP v/s the 8MP of both the Neo's
