The Sony DSC-RX1 is the world's first fixed lens digital camera with a full-frame sensor, that has traditionally been seen only in the DSLR world. In fact, the 24.3-megapixel 35mm full-frame sensor inside the RX1 more than doubles the area of APS-C sensors commonly found in some DSLR cameras.

The RX1 boasts of an ISO range of 100 - 25600, with the option to shoot as low as ISO 50 in expanded sensitivity mode. Similarly, ISO settings as high as 102400 can be achieved using Multi Frame Noise Reduction. The DSC-RX1 offers all this in a tiny package that measures 4.5-inches wide by 3 inches tall, that will set you back by a whopping Rs. 179,990.

Sony also announced two new additions in the NEX series of Mirrorless Interchangeable Lens Cameras. The Sony NEX-5R and NEX-6 boast of similar specs including 16.1-megapixel sensor and Wi-Fi. The NEX-6 (Rs. 49,990) comes with a viewfinder as well as the control dial, both of which are missing on the NEX-5R (39,990).

Are they available instores yet ?? What abt new e-mount lenses ??
Right in the kidney, ouch. Specs are awesome but dat price.....

I asked sony about the availability of these cameras on their facebook page. Got the following reply yesterday:-
"We have introduced the NEX 5R and NEX 6 cameras in India. These cameras are available on request, we suggest you visit the nearest Sony Center and inquire for these cameras. Our team there can help you procure these cameras. In case you face a problem, do write back to us."

No idea when it will be launched but one who listed them on ebay is a Alpha Flagship store,so its best to check with any of the Alpha flagship stores.Atleast they say all the A mount lenses are available even though many are not mentioned in Sony india website.

Just checked Sony India site and looks like they have made a few e-mount lenses available here. Prices kinda suck though.

SEL50f18 -> 20k
SEL55-210mm -> 20k
SEL24f18 Zeiss -> 55k
SEL1018 -> 60k

No SEL35f18 or the SEL20f28 pancake yet.

Well, the 50mm lenses are around 7-8k. Even the G lens from nikon is ~13.5k and the faster 1.4 lens is around same. The telephoto zooms are cheaper by 4-5k as well and they ave longer reach and half a stop faster. Agreed wide angle zooms are usually expensive but since they decided to make f4, could have been cheaper.

unfortunately still no 35mm emount lens .Nor have they introduced the hvl f20s flash.needed both badly.Thing with song india is they never mention possible release dates.Hope they will release these ASAP
