And the Movie is R.A. ONE!

A Sony development team in the UK is working on a game adaptation of upcoming Bollywood sci-fi flick Ra.One.

The film, which stars Shah Rukh Khan, will see its game appear on both PS2 and PS3, the latter as a downloadable PSN title.

Players can take control of Ra.One, the movie's hero, or G.One, who is...somebody else. It'll be out in September. You can see a trailer for the movie above.

We've asked Sony Europe (which manages the Indian market) for more information, and will update if we hear back.

Whatever they do, I just hope they dont base this game on SRK.
Apart from sucky gameplay and the experience, the disc is gonna stutter like hell.

Only an SRK fanboy would remember something like this....! ;)

Just cruising along mate. :)

Damn! i just checked the link.. and it indeed is on RA One. Srsly hoping Hanumanji's game outsells this one.

Going by the trend, even the hollywood movie based games disappear w.o a trace.. hoping for an encore.

It's a shame that games based on Ducktales / Talespin never arrived for any platforms like ps3/xbox/pc.

^^OT: i still think we can somehow get ducktales and talespin episodes, its just that someone with good approach has to take an initiative, should find and bump that ducktales thread :P

Someone should make a game on Ramayan or Mahabharat, both are great mythologies and would make for an epic RPG game. I seriously wonder why someone has not looked into this yet, I mean the Greek mythology has been done to death in games like God of War, just imagine how awesome a game on Indian Mythology would be? I believe Indian Mythology is far superior to Greek mythology which is nothing but fights between different Greek Gods. They made a modern day comic on Ramayana which was seriously very good, a game should not be that hard. It will sell well too as people abroad are somewhat familiar with Indian Mythology, atleast the one with Krishna. How awesome would it be to fight the Kauravas or the lankan sena for that matter? :D

What crap! I wish they would devote their time in thinking of something original game based on India rather than copying stupid bollywood movies. :@

How many of the (fanatic) Indian would take slaying of our Gods/Reverred characters of the past in a kind manner?

No doubt we got plethora of Gods/Heroes but we dont have a tolerant bunch of people in our country. Concept of worship/respect/devotion is very much different in India and mainly due to the rich values and culture from the very beginning.

As interesting it may sound, the male protagonist not being able to defeat the supposed Lankan Army or his henchmen's failure wont be taken in the right spirit by many.

It ll be a pretty awkward situation for the developers to see the game being banned in the home country itself.

^That is assuming the game follows a Non linear storytelling path. There are many different directions the developers can take the game into. Maybe we can play as Gods themselves and defeat the Evil army or play as one of the soldiers and watch the classic story from a third person perspective? Ultimately the games will be about the fight of Good vs Evil and if they are careful, sentiments may not be hurt. A clever promotion is all it takes to acquire the acceptance of people. Ofcourse there will always be a group of haters who might make an issue to gain some mileage but then that happens in America too.

Give w.e explanation to appease/support the cause.. such a game wont see the light of the Day here.

Any good production house will do a proper research for feasibility before commencing such a project and our handling of the colorful hooligans paint a bleak picture.
