Have to decide between the above two Full HD 32 inchers. I cannot increase size basis viewing distance and have to stick to 32. Among these two, any recommendations based on specs ( not brands pls) and other vital stats/reviews on the net etc are welcome !

Save some money and buy a Samsung 32R81 or a Panasonic TX32LX70. 1080p is not going to make a difference at that screen size.

And besides I guess you're better off with a Full HD plasma if you can shell out a li'l more. :)

I have been thinking on these lines myself. If I settle for a HD ready, is the Sony V series 32 also a good choice, or are the Samsung & Panasonic better ?

well if u do go for 32inch HD720p range then i would rule out the samsung since they just dump the CMO based panels in india especially in 32inch Bordeaux range ,which have a slightly washed out colors.
u should go either for the Panasonic TX32LX70 or the sony D series, both have motion flow or 100hz stuff.
but for that price u can also get a sony KLV-32W400A which has more contrast ratio.has a BRAVIA engine 2,which concentrates on texture improvement.

a salesman at an electronics store told me that sony have discontinued the 32" D series and are launchin W instead of that..so i guess D and W will cost same so it makes sense going for the W series...not bcoz of full hd but bcoz of better contrast and Bravia 2 engine

Well, got myself the Samsung LA32550 yesterday for 52K( MRP is 59K). I have being thru a lot of US based gizmo forums and the 550 is a huge hit there ( the latest 5 & 6 series have been launched simultaneously in the US and India ) and have got excellent reviews. The Sony W series 32 inches is going to MPR at aroung 75 K and the price difference is just too much, Bravia engine or not. Explains why Samsung is the largest selling LCD in N.America, all things considered.

I have a Hathway digital cable connection thru a stb and the pictures are fabulous, even at a viweing distance of 6-8 feet. In channels where the basic feed is superior, like Animal Planet/Nat geo/World movies etc, the picture is just fantastic.

I havent tried high def sources or gaming as yet, but going by the picture I am getting on terrestrial cable, I am sure there's nothing to complain about.

They must be CRAZY! 75K? You can get a 42" full HD LCD or a VERY nice Panasonic plasma for that much!
