Sony launches PSP Slim and Lite officially in India

Dang! The 40Gb model for just 25K now? I think we can definitely see a price drop for the X360 now. 9K for the PSP slim is kinda sad though. What is the old version's price again?
 
Last I saw, it was selling for 8(grey) here in B'lore so I imagined it would be even cheaper in Mumbai and Delhi.
 
the ONLY reason the ps3 has been selling well for the past couple of weeks is because of the 400$ price point of the new model. seems like sony india never got the memo. still a 50% markup for our market. greedy buggers.
 
india isn't the only country in the world that has import taxes/duties. it might be more here compared to other places, but it sure as hell isn't 50% over and above what is being charged in other countries.

the psp too. 170$ odd everywhere else (~7000) and here it's for 9000. a 30% markup.
 
yup, that's true. Microsoft is doing a gr8 job with XBOX 360 and XBOX 360 games prices in India though, so Sony needs to learn from them.
 
guys please keep checking ur local Sony showrooms regarding PSP Slim availability and post here. I really wanna buy it asap.

finding 8gig sticks around here might be a problem though. i asked the sony world guy when i was buying my 4gig and he gave me a blank stare, followed by a blatant lie that sony doesn't make 8gb sticks.

you can order one from play-asia for a decent price but customs would kill you. best option if you really need the space is 4gigx2..
 
8GB are supported but as mentioned by Spindoctor finding even fake ones would be a problem. You can either order from some online portal or ask one who is coming down from US.
