Sony MW 600 buttons dont work on Xperia SP

Untill recently I have been using the bluetooth headset just fine with the my Xperia SP. I could skip tracks, play/pause and attend calls on the go. But now I am not able to use the previous, play/pause or the next button. I have tried hard reset also. I have tried it with anothe phone too. But the result is the same. Anybody has any idea how to get the buttons working again? Or is it coz I got frenched that one time while using the device? :(
 
Checked with SOmy Mobile Service center. They dont repair accessory devices like bluetooth devices it seems. If it is under warranty, it is directly replaced!

And is yours under warranty ?
How has been your overall experience with the device ?
My cheapo chinese BT just stopped charging itself (i think) because the red light is not coming on while i keep for charging. Cable may be an issue as well but i don't know. Since it does not use generic microusb i cannot get a new cable as well. So if it is indeed dead then i will have to buy a new one and MW600 is on my radar but seems expensive for my needs (almost no music, only tv series on my nexus and calls around 4 hours per week).
I am considering the under 1K Rs Bluedio I4.
 
MW600 is lovely but the previous/next buttons are screwed up after 6 months of use. I think it's it might have got drenched with me during rainy days :(
