Sony PS 1 only playing CD's

I have a quite old playstation of sony its ps1 which works on cd and it cannot play dvd but i want my playstation to play dvd, i have heard from a friend of mine that my playstation will play dvd if i get a dvd lens n fix it into my playstation , i want to know if it is possible n how much would it cost?

welcome to TE. Your friends are bluffing with you :bleh: PS2 can play DVD not the PS1

Not possible...so forget about it. Get a PS2. Its cheaper now

AFAIK changing lens will not make a difference as you will need to a diff SOC chip to enable the DVD movie format etc..

Dis is nt possible in a ps1. Get a ps2 or a dvd player.
