Sony PSP or iPod Classic...

Hello,

I've decided to sell my N73me and get cheapo phone with either iPod or Sony PSP.. Most of my friends suggested me to go with PSP and mod it.. but is modding PSP safe for it's future?

Please share your opinions, what should I buy??

Sony PSP 3004 or iPod (any suitable version)

Sony PSP 3004 costs 9.5k where iPod versions costs more than 8k....

Total money I've gathered is 13k.... (I've to buy cheapo phone in that.. you can also suggest one phone :bleh:)

My basic needs -

Music off course, Videos, ~8GB memory is enough for me...

I heard music playback quality in headphones is about similar on both when u plug in EP630.. how is music playback on PSP?
 
Well...if you aren't much of a gaming freak then...how about getting an iPod Touch with a cheapo Nokia phone?...
 
Audio is definately better on Ipod, but with time you will get bored with Ipod.

FYI PSP3004 is not hackable till now, so if you want to purchase now go for PSP 2004. Both retails for same price.

Though PSP 3004 have few upgrades but Major issue with PSP 3004 is the visible scanlines that could irritate you in some cases.

As I love gaming.. I would like to go with PSP... but why older PSP (v. 2004?)

What Actual problem does PSP 3004 have?
 
Well first off it has got screen issues.

Above that the mobo is hacked or not it not certain.

So only if you intend to spend ~1500 bucks on each game, get the PSP3k else Hunt for PSP2K
 
your best bet is psp 2000 older revision as psp 3000 is not hackable yet and same is the case with psp 2000 latest models.

so make sure you buy a psp 2000 with maufacturing date before september 2008. if possible, ask the shopkeeper only to install custom firmware for you. you can get it for 8.5k or maybe even less at heera panna.
 
^^ Ohh I got it.... So I have to buy PSP2k version only... I've to hunt PSP2k which's manufactured before Sept 2008.. That's irritating..
 
I have to continue discussion over here again, because... Now I want some shops in Mumbai/Pune where I can get PSP 2004 + Custom Software Mod on it..

I am gonna buy t within five days, my friend in Mumbai told me that He has seen PSP2004 in Croma, Mumbai... So please help me out guys.
 
pick it up from the grey market. if you mod it, you're going to void the warranty anyway. i got my psp and ds from heera panna in south bombay... everything works fine as long as you know what you're looking for when you buy one.
