We know that Sony is working on a new camera flagship smartphone aka Honami with 20MP camera, but what if you already have a decent smartphone and just wanted better imaging capabilities ? Sony has something for you as well - attachable camera sensor and lens for smartphones.
The upcoming camera lenses will attach to smartphones and will offering digital camera like imaging capabilities with optical zoom and up to 20.1 MP CMOS sensor.
The camera lens can be attached to smartphones and will connect via NFC and Wi-Fi, it will also have built in battery and Memory Stick Micro M2 memory slot. It will use the smartphone as a viewfinder.
The lens cameras are almost confirmed to be in works and expected to be released in the coming weeks. Sony Alpha Rumors blog has got hold of the manuals which reveal more information.
According to the source, the lens cameras will have model numbers DSC-QX10 and DSC-QX100.
The QX100 has 20.2MP f/1.8 Exmor R CMOS sensor ( same as DSC-RX100M II Cyber-shot digital camera)
Dimensions - 62,5 mm × 62,5 mm × 55,5 mm (W / H / D)
Weight - 179g
The QX10 has the same 1/2,3 inch 18 megapixel CMOS sensor and f/3,3-5.9 lens as the Sony WX150 digital camera.

Weight - 105g
